Our Wedding Venue!

Now that we are engaged, Joe and I decided that the first step of our wedding planning process was the venue! Me being in the industry, I was aware that due to COVID so many 2020 Weddings got pushed back to 2021. That being said, we were looking for a venue with availability in the Fall of 2022. That two years to plan is perfect for Joe and I because we are both just looking to enjoy this engagement period, as we only get to be engaged once.

Whistling Wren Farm

One day, for work we toured a new venue in our area called Whistling Wren Farm. I fell in love with the owner and the space! It is truly beautiful and Kelly and her husband both have given so much love, thought and care into their venue. I came home that day and told Joey, "we HAVE to go tour this venue." I emailed her that evening and we scheduled a time for Joe and I to visit the space. Both of us went and we LOVED it. We also fell in love with Kelly and her husband, we could have stood and talked with them for hours (if Joey didn't have to pee so bad, lol.) The space has rooms for both the bride and groom to get ready, a courtyard with a stone fireplace and bistro lights, a grassy field with a pond (and soon to come fountain), and a STUNNING, newly renovated barn with a gorgeous chandelier. The one thing it did not have was bathrooms (the reason why we had to leave so Joey did not pee himself.) But the owner rents the bathroom trailer for your wedding and that is included in the rental cost of the venue. Our only problem with the space was it was not big enough for our guest count. It only holds about 100 guests, and Joe and I were looking at 120-130 guests. Sadly, we were not able to use Whistling Wren Farm for that reason, but we were so happy to have met Kelly and her husband, and see such a wonderful venue for our very first venue tour together.

Tranquility Farm

Back to the drawing board then, so I found Tranquility Farm on Wedding Wire. The space was beautiful but what I really loved about this one, is the rental of the venue got you the space and sleeping arrangements for up to 18 people on the property for the ENTIRE weekend! Yes, you read that right, you rented the venue and its on-site homes (there were 2) from Friday at noon until Sunday at two. I scheduled a tour and we met with Suzanne, the owner, who gave us a wonderful tour. Suzanne and her husband were both so wonderful to meet and we loved the home and everything they had done to it! The space is huge with numerous options for cocktail hour space, ceremony space, and reception space. Not to mention, the rental fee includes all of your tables and chairs! Our only issue with it was that Joey's family is from out of town, and there was not many hotels super close by for us to have them stay in. But, Joey and I were so glad that we got to meet Suzanne, her husband, and tour the GORGEOUS property and all they had done to it!

After the two venue tours, Joe and I were still looking for our venue. One Saturday, I was working as the wedding planner for a wedding at this new venue called Bluebird Manor. They just opened this Spring, but due to COVID that changed somethings. Either way I was excited to be working and get to see a new space. It was the owner of Bluebird Manor's daughter who was getting married that day. When I walked onto the property, saw the space and how everything flowed I truly knew this was our venue. I worked the wedding, came home and told Joey all about it. That Monday I reached out and asked to schedule a tour and we went that week. Joe and I both fell in love with the space. It's gorgeous chandelier barn, chapel, bride & groom suites, and all of the rentals that come with the space. We loved that EVERYTHING. We chose a date and committed to that venue right then and there! This weekend we get to take my parents to see the space themselves and we are so excited!

Bluebird Manor

I am so happy to have found our venue, but I think the most exciting part about choosing a venue was that I finally had a date. The date I get to marry the man I love so much. The date I will look forward to until it comes. The date I will remember and celebrate every year after. That date is October 22, 2022.
