It is so hard to believe that summer is almost over, as we move to fall, before we know it the holidays will be here. To me the dining room is a place the family spends a lot of time, sharing meals and stories at the end of each day, hosting holidays, it is true what they say, that the best memories are made around the table. With that in mind, I got hard at work on making our dining room a place our new family will make memories for years to come.
Mixed Wood Tones
Most people are afraid to mix wood tones and only stick to one, this can leave a space looking flat. Mixing wood tones gives the space a layered, lived-in look. And, a small tip, when mixing wood tones be sure the undertones match.
Statement Lighting
Statement lighting creates a beautiful focal point in the room, while drawing your eye up and therefore making the space seem larger. (I need this with my lower ceilings). The lighting you choose is also another way to make your home feel more custom.
Mixed Dining Seating
Instead of using the same 6 chairs around my table, I am opting for two upholstered chairs at the ends of the table. These will add some softness to the many hard surfaces in the dining space.
Neutral Colors & Natural Art Themes
Joey and I love nature and so I often pull that into my interior design. I have chosen pieces that are natural textures and colors, and with having the same overall theme, they mix well while not being too flat.
Below is a very basic speck of my vision!
I will upload pictures and share with links when it is all said and done!
